Welcome to St. Gertrude Parish

St. Gertrude's Parish is a worshiping community which seeks to live its Catholic faith based on Christian values. The parish is unified in diversity, committed to community service, and called to extend God's love to everyone. Using our living faith, we will strive to motivate children and families to embrace the Catholic tradition, through excellence in education and commitment to the community, so that it might now and always enrich every aspect of their lives.

Message from Fr.Stembler:

As a parishioner of St. Gertrude parish, I welcome the opportunity to listen and hear your thoughts and ideas about what St. Gertrude needs to continue to bring the Good News to all the people of the parish. The survey will be available online and/or in the back of the church or in the parish office until November 9. At that time the results will be analyzed and a 3 to 5 year pastoral plan will be established.

Thank you for taking the time to complete the survey.

Blessings,

Fr. James Stembler, Pastor

SAINT GERTRUDE

St. Gertrude was orphaned at a very early age and was raised in the Cistercian Abbey, of Helfta, Eisleben, Saxany. She was very intelligent and became very interested in philosophy, she could read and write Latin, but was reproached by Christ, in a vision, for seeking wisdom of the world. From then on she studied the Bible and the works of the Church Fathers. Our Lord and Our Lady appeared to her many times, giving her revelations about Heaven and about how the Holy Family lived here on earth. They also gave her instructions on how to live a holy life. Her writings encouraged devotions to Our Lord and Our Lady, and her works were greatly praised by Saint Teresa and Saint Francis de Sales.
